I direct and produce projects of various shapes and sizes, from online ads to some bigger film and documentary productions. Currently, I have a few film projects in development and run a handful of commercial productions for companies in Silicon Valley.
My film work is run through Speculative Films, where I’ve made the transition to long-form filmmaking with a series of documentary and narrative short films — like YOUTH (18m, 2016) — that have won their share of jury awards, played at more than 100 film festivals, including Cannes, and were commissioned and featured by The New Yorker, The Atlantic, Patagonia Films, Vice, Wired, and National Geographic, to name a few. Currently, I’m in-development on THE FUTURISTS a science docu-series with actress Daisy Ridley (Star Wars); in pre-production on a feature-film version of YOUTH starring Pierce Brosnan; and in post-production on a feature documentary, TOWN SQUARE.
In previous lives, I studied ceramic sculpture at UC Berkeley and drove a rusty old Buick over 22,500 miles from San Francisco to the southern tip of South America. Every four years, I work as a photojournalist on the campaign trail during presidential elections, starting In 2008 working with Nate Silver as he launched FiveThirtyEight (later acquired by The New York Times and then Disney). You can see a few of my favorites from that collection here.
I live and work in San Francisco, California.
