I direct and produce projects of various shapes and sizes, from online ads to some bigger film and documentary productions. Currently, I have a few film projects in development and run a handful of commercial productions for companies in Silicon Valley.
My film work is run through the production company Speculative Films. This spring, I directed YOUTH (2016), a sci-fi film about "growing old in a world of perpetual youth." It's currently making the rounds on the film festival circuit and has won a handful of awards. We're also working on a science documentary series and are in development on a new feature film, CANADA, for 2018.
Before advertising – where I have directed over 75 pieces for over 50 companies – I got my start as a documentary film editor. A few commercial clients include Box, Evernote, Salesforce, Marketo, and AT&T.
In previous lives, I studied ceramic sculpture at UC Berkeley and drove a rusty old Buick over 22,500 miles from San Francisco to the southern tip of South America. Every four years, I work as a photojournalist on the campaign trail during presidential elections. In 2008, I worked with Nate Silver for FiveThirtyEight (later acquired by The New York Times and then ESPN) and TalkingPointsMemo in 2012. You can see a few of my favorites from that collection here.
